Green Houses, The New Real Estate Renaissance?

August 28, 2008 by Greg Saunders

Green homes!  Okay, okay, maybe you don’t see it clearly right now but you gotta take your thoughts off your gas-guzzling truck or SUV for a moment and see if you can get the correct answer to this question.  Okay, true or false, the average U.S. home causes twice as much greenhouse emissions as a single car.  The answer is True.  No this does not qualify you for are you smarter than a 5th grader!

According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency, a typical house requires power for heating, air conditioning, hot water and lighting.  that’s enough to cause the emission of three tons of polluting carbon gases each year compared with about 1.5 tons for the typical car on the road.

Trisha Yearwood - Live At the Frederick (The Fred) Brown Jr Amphitheater Friday, September 12, 2008

August 27, 2008 by Greg Saunders

Looking for a perfect ending to a great summer?  How about a Trisha Yearwood concert?  That’s right, Trisha Yearwood is coming to the Frederick (The Fred) Brown Jr Amphitheater on Friday, September 12, 2008

If you don’t know Trish Yearwood, her music or famous recipes then you must live on another planet whether you like country music or not.  It did not hurt that Trisha Yearwood sung two of Garth Brooks’ songs on her debut album but the Georgia-born Yearwood needs no embellishment to shine. Yearwood, who grew up imitating Linda Ronstadt, may not be a Martina McBride but she has demonstrated technical and emotional authority at every turn. Talent, dreams and determination are an intoxicating little cocktail. It’s a recipe that has served to propel a lithesome Georgia blonde from local honky tonks to the world’s most prestigious stages. For Trisha Yearwood, there was never any other path but music.

Uniquely Home! - North Cove

August 26, 2008 by Greg Saunders

They say that words can describe what the eye doesn’t see but in this case the eye can see it all and perhaps words are not enough. If you love Mediterranean style architecture with inspiring Old South, French, Spanish and Italian designs then let me welcome you to Peachtree City’s finest address, North Cove.

Describing these estates is no easy task. Italy is not the only country featured here.  Perhaps one desires the elegance as found of a French Chateau or the influence of Spain as the ultimate choice.  The true richness and quintessential artistry of Mediterranean living is what is exemplified at North Cove.

Planning For Retirement? - Consider A Reverse Mortgage

August 25, 2008 by Greg Saunders

In July Congress passed the Housing Rescue Package that was targeted at the growing number of foreclosures and shoring up Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.  However, this package also contained some provisions in the legislation that look pretty good for older homeowners that want to trade in the equity of their homes for cash.Unlock your home\'s equity potential!

The federal government backs more than 90% of these reverse mortgage loans through the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage Program (HECM).  This program guaranteed 107,400 reverse mortgages in 2007 up from 7,900 in 1998.  Industry experts have also estimated that even with the drop in housing prices, seniors’ equity in their homes was estimated to be $4.2 trillion dollars at the end of 2007.  As more baby boomers head for retirement with smaller savings and pension funds, a reverse mortgage will probably be a viable option for many.

Picturesque Pathways...   With the price of gas hovering at just under $4.00 a gallon and no relief in sight, Peachtree City, Georgia may have found a viable and green option for their residents long before the present gas crisis.  Chosen by US World and News Report as one of the top 10 places to live in the US, Peachtree City is “The Golf Cart Capital of the World” and home to about 100 miles of golf cart paths and over 12,000 golf carts.  Basically that equates to one for every three residents with two-thirds of the households in Peachtree City owning at least one golf cart!
